Anthony Stephenson

Senior Director
Tony is a highly experienced educator and practitioner in a very wide range of small to large industries worldwide, including Engineering, Food, Healthcare, Medical Devices, Packaging, Consumer and Industrial Electronics, Horticulture, Viticulture and Primary Production. He has worked with Regulatory bodies in Aviation and Food as well as Accident Investigation He is a Business Mentor and adviser in Business Management Tools which include Quality, Occupational Health & Safety, Environment and Business Excellence. He has worked extensively in Australasia and South East Asia including Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Korea as well as Europe and the USA. As the Founding President of the New Zealand Organisation for Quality he became involved in working with many Standard Bodies including ISO. He is a Board Member of NZBEF and the NZ Safety Council and sits on the QED Advisory Board. Tony developed the first internationally accredited auditor training in the southern hemisphere in 1985.

Carew Hatherley

Managing Director
Carew is a Certified Lead Auditor and Trainer for ISO 9001, 14001, 27001 & 45001. He also covers Defence and Corporate Social Responsibility. In 2021 he was chosen to represent New Zealand on ISO (Geneva) Technical Committee 1-27 Data Privacy & Security. He is an elected Fellow of the Institute of Leadership & Management, a Professional Member of the American Society for Quality and a Member of the NZ Institute of Directors. He is also a Director of the NZ Business Excellence Foundation. He is currently the Chair of The IQM Group Board and leads on all ISO 27001 matters.

Nicky Stevenson

Director
Nicky is an experienced Quality and Health & Safety Manager with a strong focus on continuous improvement. She is an Exemplar Global Certified Lead Auditor, with over 16 years’ experience in quality and health and safety management across a variety of industries, including Healthcare and Aviation. Nicky leads on all Health & Disabilities courses and also Lead Auditor courses. With a passion for helping businesses do what they do better and a desire for excellence, Nicky’s experience supports businesses to effectively navigate regulatory requirements, quality improvement opportunities, development of frameworks and achieve audit objectives. Nicky has recently commenced her own consulting business to share her passion for excellence; building relationships and working alongside businesses to help them achieve their goals. She moved from IQM Group Associate to join the Group Board as a Director in January 2023.

Trevor Stafford

Partner
Trevor’s activities as strategic business coach and mentor stems from his trained and experiential background across industries. His initial career was in defence with maritime operations. His secondary career was forged with a combination of senior management roles in transport organisations of over 3000 staff, to operating as an independent consultant problem solving in large and small operations. This spread brings a host of tools and techniques to business problem solving situations. He operates with a diagnostic solution focused viewpoint, this is especially valuable to clients who have found themselves operating very close to the ‘coalface’. This approach complemented his pursuit of quality management as a lead auditor, being qualified initially with BSI and building further with IMT and The IQM Group. A passion is management training and upskilling people with new knowledge skills and techniques to problem solve within their businesses. He is qualified to both Project Management Professional standards, NLP Practitioner and is an ISO Lead Auditor. He also holds a degree in Systems Analysis and Management and has past governance and directorship roles in the Tourism, Training, ISO Certifications and Consulting industries.

Simon Glasgow

Simon has a DipOHS and DipAdultEd with experience and background in high-profile private and civic business units, operational and organisational change management, customer relationship and national franchise/corporate territory management. Simon has a passion for helping and supporting people in business with all aspects of health and safety.

Damien Smith

Associate
Damien is a Senior Executive with over 20 years of Leadership, Consulting & Strategy Director experience in the UK/Ireland, NZ & Australian markets. He brings Corporate & Agri Banking Business Development experience client management roles with P&L & Credit Application Responsibility (Debt & Property) at Macquarie Bank & ASB Business Corporate Bank. He is also experienced with telecoms and viticulture organisations. Damien was an MP (Member of the 53rd NZ Parliament) for the ACT Party of New Zealand for Botany East Auckland. Damien is an internationally qualified Lead Auditor.

Dave Coulton

Associate
Dave is a versatile consultant with extensive experience and a diverse skillset across policy, governance and oversight, risk management, health and safety and training design for the defence, sport and leisure and food production industries. Dave is a qualified Lead Auditor and trainer with international experience operating in high-risk environments, as well as the public and business sectors. Outside of work he has also championed adventure sports programmes for disabled communities, and mental health training programmes on behalf of a partner organisation. Approachable and innovative, Dave is dedicated to creating positive impacts for clients and communities.

Mieke Bond

Associate
Mieke is a skilled project manager with 28 years of experience which include 5 years in program management. Her expertise includes strategic planning, stakeholder collaboration, and team leadership, fostering strong relationships and ensuring successful delivery. She is an experienced business case writer and internationally qualified Lead Auditor. She is certified in PRINCE2, Scrum, and Agile practices, with a history of continual professional development, including certifications in project auditing and advanced Scrum methodologies. A member of Toastmasters and the Project Management Institute, she has honed communication and leadership skills, presenting to senior leadership and facilitating workshops.

Raymond Tan

Associate
Raymond has worked with many organisations to develop efficient asset/facility management systems with 30+ years’ experience in the hotel, banking, local and central government sectors in New Zealand and overseas. He has facilitated tailored workshops with organisations and individuals to enhance their asset/facility management capabilities to prepare for ISO 55001/ISO 41001 certifications or alignment with best practices. Raymond’s passion for the discipline has led him to develop and deliver several courses at Massey University (while pursuing a PhD in asset management), and has authored several book chapters and journal publications. He is a WPiAM certified asset management assessor, Exemplar Global lead auditor (for ISO 9001, 41001, 55001), and a member of the ISO technical committees of asset management (TC251) and facility management (TC 267). As a certified management consultant and a Kaizen practitioner, Raymond abides by the ethos of professionalism when partnering with organisations to achieve their business goals collaboratively. As a chartered member of the NZ Institute of Directors, a fellow member of Governance NZ, Raymond always delivers results with the utmost integrity. He holds a Henley MBA, a honours degree in strategic management, several postgraduate and professional qualifications.

Flora Anthonysamy

Flora is a highly experienced Auditor, Consultant, Project Manager and Trainer: she is based in Selangor and will head up IQM Group activities in Malaysia. Currently MD of Expat Management Plt, Flora is finishing an MBA in Strategic Management to go with her Executive MBA from INSEAD Singapore and her BSc (Hons) in Chemistry. Beryl Oldham

In addition to being Managing Director of Complete Learning Solutions, Beryl is a Certified ROI Professional® and the New Zealand business partner for Drs Jack and Patti Phillips of the ROI Institute®. She has a Master of Business Studies in Human Resource Management and holds AQF certificates in Training Systems Management and Training Evaluation, and the NZQA Certificate in Adult Education and Training Level 5. Beryl was the 2014 recipient of the NZATD Education Trust’s Learning and Development Practitioner of the Year Award. She is a Chartered Fellow of the Human Resources Institute of NZ, a LIfe Fellow of the NZ Association for Training & Development, and Board Chair of the NZ Business Excellence Foundation.

Gordon McGowan

Associate - Dunedin
Gordon is a quality management professional who has extensive experience across multiple industry groups including public sector service, manufacturing and supply chain. He has worked with small and large businesses both nationally and internationally. Most recently he has been running his own consultancy business in pursuit of his passion for working with businesses to identify and implement improvement opportunities that deliver improved productivity and profits. Gordon is a former national evaluator for the NZ Business Excellence Awards, with over 30 years of experience in auditing to both legislation and international standards. He is a certified Lead Auditor for ISO standards 9001 (Quality), 14001 (Environment), 45001 (OH&S) and holds a Diploma in Business Administration from Otago University. An accomplished trainer with a highly interactive style, Gordon uses his real-world experiences, learnings and personal observations to bring clarity and understanding throughout his training sessions.

Lee Hanna

Lee is an Accredited Assessor for SAFE+ and has a decade of consultancy experience implementing Health & Safety systems across many sectors. She is a specialist in contracting, aviation and healthcare. Lee is a Technical Member of NZISM; Lead Assessor Audit QSA with experience ACC WSMP auditing; and NZQA Certification in Adult Education and Learning.
